Darrah Tiger Reserve (Timings, Entry Fee, Safari Online Booking & How to Reach)
Located in the state of Rajasthan at a distance of 50 km from Kota, the Darrah Tiger Reserve presents tourists with amazing holidaying options especially for wildlife enthusiasts. Spread across an area of 250 sq. km, Darrah was declared as the protected area in the year of 1955.
The area, located between the Mukundarah hill ranges, has been quite important in the earlier era as well as it used to be the hunting ground of the Maharajas of Kota. Darrah Wildlife Sanctuary is apparently one of the first wildlife sanctuaries of the Independent India.
In order to enter the reserve, tourists require prior permission from the local forest ranger. Foreign tourists are charged with Rs. 100 while domestic tourists are required to pay an entry fee of Rs. 20.
Tourists visiting the Darrah Tiger Reserve have not just wildlife to look at but also various interesting sightseeing options. Jhalwar Fort with Zanana Khas inside is located quite close to the reserve. Another place which is worth visiting is Jhairapatan which was built in the 10th century. It has ruins of Sun Temple which presents mesmerising view.
Fauna @ Darrah Tiger Reserve
Along with presenting you with exciting sights of tigers, the reserve has various other animals as well. Some of these are wolf, cheetah, nilgai, wild boar, spotted deers, bears sambhars, leopards, panthers, antelopes, etc. There are high chances that tourists will easily spot a leopard or sloth bear at the reserve.

The best time to visit the reserve is during the months of October to June. The sanctuary is open to the tourists all throughout the year excluding the monsoon months (July to September)

- By air: The nearest airport to the reserve is at Udaipur which is well connected with other places like Delhi, Mumbai, etc.
- By rail: The nearest railhead to the reserve is at Kota which is situated on the Delhi Mumbai Rail Route. It is also well connected to cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Agra, and Jaipur
- By road: The town of Kota which is just 50 km away is well connected via road.
